Wedding venues in Delhi: what to expect

Delhi NCR has almost every kind of wedding venue, often within a short drive of each other. There are three main types.

Farmhouses and lawns suit big, open-air functions. They give you space for a mandap, a separate dinner area and parking. Chhatarpur, Kapashera and the roads around them are known for these.

Hotels in central Delhi, Aerocity, Gurgaon and Noida offer ballrooms, lawns and rooms for out-of-town guests under one roof. They usually come with stricter rules on music timings and outside vendors.

Indoor halls are the everyday choice. They are air-conditioned and come with their own catering, so one booking covers the space and the food. Whole stretches of west and east Delhi are lined with them.

Many families mix the three: a hall for the mehndi or sangeet, a farmhouse for the wedding, and a hotel for guests.

Wedding venues in Delhi NCR by area

Each part of NCR has its own feel. These are general patterns, so always check the venue itself.

  • West Delhi (Peeragarhi, Mayapuri, Kirti Nagar, Rajouri Garden): dense clusters of indoor halls, good for seeing several in one afternoon.
  • East Delhi (Karkardooma, Preet Vihar and nearby): another big cluster of halls, handy for families across the Yamuna and in Noida.
  • South Delhi (Chhatarpur, Mehrauli and around): farmhouses and large lawns for bigger guest lists.
  • Kapashera and the NH-48 side: farmhouses and halls close to the airport, useful when guests are flying in.
  • Dwarka: a growing mix of halls and hotels in the south-west.
  • Gurgaon: hotels and resort-style venues, plus farmhouses on the city's edges.
  • Noida and Greater Noida: halls, hotels and open venues for families in the east of NCR.

How to choose a wedding venue in Delhi NCR

Start with three facts: your date, your guest count and the functions you need. Then shortlist venues that can hold your real number of guests comfortably, not just squeeze them in.

Visit at the time of day your function will happen. A lawn that looks lovely at noon may have poor lighting or nowhere to shelter at night. Walk the route your guests will take, from parking to the stage to the dining area.

Check the practical things too. Is there enough parking, or a valet? Is there a lift and ramp for elderly guests? Where will the baraat arrive, and is a dhol allowed on the road outside? Is there a room for the bride and family to get ready?

Questions to ask the venue

  • Which dates are free, and is the price different on peak dates?
  • Is catering in-house only, or can we bring our own caterer?
  • Can we use our own decorator, DJ and photographer, or do you have a fixed list?
  • What time must music stop, and is there an extra charge for running late?
  • How much is the advance, and what happens if we change the date?
  • Is the price per plate, per event or a fixed hire? What's included: decor, DJ, rooms, generator backup?
  • Are taxes included in the quote?

Ask for every answer in writing, along with a clear payment schedule.

When to book

Winter is when most Delhi weddings happen. The traders' body CAIT estimated about 4.8 lakh weddings in Delhi between 1 November and 14 December 2025 alone. With that many weddings in a few weeks, popular venues on auspicious dates can be gone many months ahead. If your date is fixed, book the venue first, then line up other vendors around it. If your dates are flexible, a weekday or a summer function can open up many more choices.

What affects the cost

Venues price in different ways, so compare like with like. The main things that change the cost are:

  • How it charges: per plate (food included), a fixed hire for the space, or a package.
  • The date: auspicious dates and winter weekends cost more than off-season weekdays.
  • Guest count: venues that cater in-house often set a minimum number of plates.
  • Menu: veg or non-veg, the number of dishes, live counters and bar service.
  • Extras: decor, lighting, DJ, rooms, valet and generator backup, and whether outside vendors pay a fee.
  • Location: central and South Delhi, Aerocity and prime Gurgaon venues usually cost more than those further out.

Where a venue publishes a starting price, you'll see it on its card. Always ask what that price includes.

Wedding venues in Delhi: questions

It depends on how the venue charges (per plate with food, a fixed hire for the space, or a package), the date, your guest count and the menu. Auspicious winter dates cost the most. Where a venue publishes a starting price on its own website, it shows on its card, so ask every venue for a full written quote with taxes.
